“Additionally, this doesn't also mean that the HREO on a percentage basis produced by LYC are all that great and hence why downstream avenues were targetting around NdPr. At 0.6% Dy of the TREO in head grade and similar in the concentrate grade, we're talking a very small and diluted amount of Dy. Compared to 2.5% for the IAC. Essentially there's 4 times as much Dy in every kg of IAC concentrate compared to LYC.”

Might want to check your numbers.

Need to remember Mt Weld has two distinct deposits, CLD and Duncan, with Duncan containing higher distribution of HRE than CLD. Looking at the Duncan deposit scoping study done back in the day, expected production DyO 300tpa. The scoping study was based on a stand alone processing plant specifically for the Duncan deposit ore.

Important to note that Lynas are now blending CLD and Duncan ore, which increases ROM HRE content. This also negates the need for a stand alone processing plant just for Duncan ore, Mt Weld concentrator now taking care of that.

Based on this information, I surmise annual DyO production from Lynas US HRE separation plant would be circa 400tpa. That’s around 3 times as much as IXR plans to produce form their down steam separation plant. The kicker here is US DoD has kicked in US$120m to build the HRE separation facility.
