40 years ago in a former life, working in middle management for a multinational I was sidelined, lucky not asked to resign, because I spoke out against obvious anomalies in the treatment of employees based on ethnicity. Sometimes you have to speak out, not with words but by actions. Yes I only lost position and status but enough to financially impact my family, should I have resigned? No because I could do more to influence change internally than externally, don't forget your talking 1980's not 2022.
