If you check out the HotCopper website you will see there is now a specific thread in relation to Algorithmic Trading also known as Bot trading, used by the big brokers to manipulate share prices and scare private investors into selling their stock. There is a growing rebellion amongst private investors who are trying to force the ASX to do something about this unfair trading however, the ASX is compromised by their own large share holders ulterior motives. Bot trading was not supposed to be used to this end but as a way to accumulate large parcels of share with minimum disruption to the market. There is a story in this. Have a look at the trading for CDU, GXY, WTP, JML for instance.
