Revelation is dense and complex. One needs to some experience with the allusions used and this comes from hours of reading, cross referencing and understanding how various symbolic allusions have been used in other places so that a picture begins to form. Now of course nobody can ever claim to be 100% correct when interpreting the phantasmagorical world of John.
Revelation does not reveal itself via the text alone, because the text is abstruse, poetic, allegoric, dream-state, metaphoric. With such a scripture it will always be subjective. The JW read it and they see themselves ruling in heaven, living on earth forever and so on. Others read it as see the corruption of the Catholic church, the end of the world and so on.
Religious writing is something that must be revisited over and over again whilst one develops their spiritual capacity in the hope that subjectiveness slowly becomes clarity.
That's why the Bible cautions one to not feed pearls to swine. We each have to put in the work to gain the rewards.
Anyway, most of Christianity is founded on baseless interpretation, so it must be a good thing, right?
