Yeah, my bad. The quote came from a training manual (ATG) and I probably shouldn't of included it as it applies to Hybrid tech not BEV. But, yes, agree with the voltage/ current relationship regarding the wiring. The automotive industry has invested huge amounts in finding ways to reduce weight and costs including the wiring.
The early hybrids it was current (under heavy load) that killed the NiMH cell and therefore the battery.
