If it gives you any hope, I had a tendon that a very decent second opinion Orthopedic Surgeon described as 'hanging on by a thread' and couldn't lift 4KG without pain, despite strong brachialis kicking in. 6 months after Ortho ATI, I had a normal looking tendon, with no 'signalling' under MRI.

I am confident you will have success. Go easy initially of course, but see a Physio if you can afford to get a rehab regime, as the benefits of a very light but progressive loading regime cannot be discounted. I'd love to give you mind, but some peanut will probably say I am practicing medicine without a license. I risk telling you stuff you know, but tendons, like muscle respond and adapt to progressive mechanical load with time. You are massively amplifying the body's natural tenocyte repair process, but it will only ultimately remodel the tendon to its needs. A cautious progressive loading regime alongside will only improve your results.
