The articles reported there was around 1 billion of claims by IMF's clients. The amount IMF report in their case portfolio though takes into account what the defendants are actually able to pay, and what the most likely outcome is. Their last case investment portfolio had $1.1B total out to July 2012, so Lehmans was either not included or a lot smaller than $1B. I remember they do not include cases where funding is still subject to contingently funded cases until all conditions are filled so that may have been the case here. So the best case would be another $1B added to the case portfolio, the worse is it is already there and only represented as a much smaller amount. I know what I would prefer!
