Yes just reading through the material it seems that they are selling a business. And yes they have to pay $30m or so per annum to the government employment agency for services rendered...presumably there is a nice amount of fat in this as that is why the unions would be jumping up and down. And yes as is typical with any government enterprise it would appear that the plantations are relatively unproductive. I also hear there has been a fungus outbreak in QLD which is eating a lot of the trees.

So whilst I dont dismiss this out of hand I suspect it is not that relevant for Gunns valuations. At any rate as I keep saying we will just wait and see what develops for the others GNS/GTP and FEA. Certainly expectations would be lower due to the amount of supply on the market.
