Not that it is terribly important, but it is interesting. Aluminium v copper. The data I have states that for the same resistance per metre Al has to be 1.579 x Cu cross sectional area which equates to 1.25 x radius. I think there are other qualities that make copper more suitable in many applications and weight certainly is not one of them.
