Actually you can kick them out if they don't pay, whether they are in financial distress or not is irrelevant. It may not be nice but landlords are not charities.

Says you. Everyone manages their money differently. Plus I clearly stated that he should only buy what he felt he could comfortably afford - not what you or I thinks he can afford.
