This was an expected and welcomed outcome.
In the absence of purchasing a non coal asset in the name of diversification, which would or would not be beneficial, the repayment of debt allows more franking credits to accumulate.
Considering Coal stocks are now a dividend play for the next 10 years, Franking credits are king.
