The absurdity in all of this is Albo still hasn’t outlined how the price cap on coal will work - how will it lower electricity prices and by how much?
There is no spreadsheet, whiteboard or even writing on a napkin to justify how energy prices will fall
How can Govt vote on something that is essentially only thrown together, not properly debated, not properly costed, not even properly discussed and understood
Dutton needs to ask some basic questions - how will caping coal prices lower electricity prices from what they currently are, and by how much and what happens when the coal generators start closing down.
We still don’t know how the transition to renewables is to work and puting all your eggs into the gas basket is only asking for trouble - Albo needs to be trying to keep coal burning for as long as possible otherwise we will see massive energy spikes similar to Europe
