not sure about the cap raises being lessened due to the compliance costs of listing rules ?
also not sure that we need to be seeking cap raises from retail either, or specifcially ASX retail who have had many bites of the cherry.
but on the share price, the negative sentiment which for anyone wanting to may be able to be gone back over and reconciled with certain events / dates. I did find it very strange that at these recent price levels we have seen some very recent (November and December) short selling of AAU shares !
Who would do that when the share price is at 3.5 cents ? it's a very limited profit on the trade of just 100%, and then there's the qtys of shares short sold 40,000 and fewer than 7,000 which in total is around $1650 of short selling ???, and furthermore those short sold shares get closed out the folowing day ?
smells more like selling into the close to downtick the price and buying back the next day, and that brings me back to your comments about the Share Price and negative chatter, it's at he levels it is at because there are parties with an agenda that want it to be here, and it is able to be so, due to the the low $$ of avg liquidity traded.

and if there happens to be a valid explnation to the short selling of just $1650 over two seperate dates, then there's yet another example of manipulating the close prices during the after market match outs just today actually.
which turned these leading up and into Close sales into these post close / match out sales and daily a Close price at a level where there quite coincidentally is a bit of accumulated BUY side qty
The sell side 3.2c order placed during Close Out, is explicitly a breach of market manipulation for both time of order and price level of the order, it's entire purpose was to push through down into the 3.4c

Prevention of Manipulative Trading
Current holders are being played if they're only focussing on end of day Close price and not what's going on to orchestrate that number.
