And Wayne made a clear point there, one of the biggest players showed an interest in acquiring us but the offer wasn't valuable to shareholders because "the market cap is not yet where it needs to be" and while the data we have now wasn't available at that time, "valuations matter". I posted about that before, the market cap matters with buyout offers.
To get a $1.5 billion USD/$2.2 billion AUD offer, we'll probably need a billion dollar AUD market cap, and on from there for higher offers. Data really, really matters and extremely compelling data could obviously cause some FOMO among the big boys but a company paying 7x-10x or more above a current market cap seems rather unrealistic to me. I'd love to be wrong but I think patience is in order when it comes to a buyout.
