In the west, they will be tracking from where those materials come from, carbon intensity, waste, etc, etc, and yesterday the US, Canada, Oz, Germany, France, Japan and the UK joined an alliance for the same reasons, China can join the alliance if they clean up their act.

Also, yesterday, Europe provisionally agreed on new rules regarding batteries, focusing on sustainability. The rules include higher due-diligence or raw materials' origins and more recycled content in batteries.
