Reports from industry sources had pointed to capex for new build mine + mineral processing plant projects in Australia having risen c. 40% in the 12-18 months leading up to Q4 CY2022. Those same sources are now suggesting that those costs have already fallen back significantly (in the order of 15-20% from peak). Recall that project returns and NPV are highly sensitive to capex as capex is incurred upfront, hence a 10-20% reduction will have a significant impact on the IRR and NPV of the TECH Project.
