Rest assured the reports to ASX are quite normal. It would have taken a lot of time to assemble and quantify the drill results and they were reported in the normal manner. The worst thing that could have happened was to go off half cocked before all the information was to hand and had been properly assessed.
Meantime I was quite sure that their team would have been continuing with mapping -costeaning and sampling the high grade outcrops - which is a completely separate team to the drill crew- and submitting those samples for analysis -which have now been reported.
You don't put grids over exposed ironstone quartz veins in the early stages of exploration -you go for your life with rock chip along strikes - and because costeaning is exposing in this case more high grade veins under cover you pursue the gold mineralisation as it occurs to try and work out the structural settings. We may have narrow very high grade epithermal vein sets or it may well be a more conventional gold deposition model.
I see nothing curious about the exploration program -it's being conducted in a professional manner as would any genuine explorer dealing with variable ultra high grade surface expressions of gold that make and break -pinch and swell and deviate in all sorts of directions in what is obviously a very complex geological setting.
You can bet as I am typing this the ground crew will be looking for more high grade surface expressions and the geologists will be analysing the data as it comes to hand to plan further drill programs.
