Flying over the Carina plant last Friday, the water had spread as far as the lower part of the embankment that the Hattah-Robinvale road is built on in front of the Carina processing plant.
The floods have reached their peak in that stretch of the river, so there is little or no likelihood of the facility being inundated or cut off. However , the road has apparently been closed about 5km west of Carina (although I couldn't see it as it was underneath the plane). But even if it is unusable to heavy traffic for some considerable time, produce in and out of the plant have alternative routes available.
The extent of flooding in this area is incredible. Virtually all the forest and floodplain lands adjoining the Murray are now a lake, with trees poking out of the water. If looking on Google Earth, it is all the dark and light grey areas and some of the low-lying farmland and horticultural plantings.
