Agreed. Getting paid separately for being Director on subsidiaries sounds unethical, even if not illegal. At the very least the company needs to give a justification for this and has failed to do so. To say there was an "independent" review is not good enough. Everyone knows that the terms of reference are critical to the determination.
It reminds me of when the Prime Minister of Fiji, Bainimarama, got paid separate Cabinet Minister salaries for the six portfolios that he held following his coup. Lets see Albanese try that and see what happens.
