Cinovec is an atypical hard rock lithium deposit - the ore mineral is mica, not pyroxene. Micas contain less Li than the pyroxene spodumene. Rather than produce and sell a concentrate Geomet will produce and sell lithium salts. So It’s all about processing and production costs, not deposit grade.
You either read wrong or the reference is BS - Cinovec was not ‘discarded previously by another UK mining company’.
