Soo much easier for these unethical and morally devoid institutions to manipulate the price down and make quick short term money on retail investors losses than to do research and invest in the long term success of a business.
It's just a way for the rich and greedy to continue to take money off your average mum and dads. Our toothless regulators are too afraid to take on the large multinational financial corporations because of their legal budget and would rather go after the small fish for petty crimes.
Shorting should be illegal in Australia, the same as any kind of deliberate market manipulation.
