Okay I didn't read the announcement in full.....
Logging while fishing (LWF)
Drill pipe is run over the wireline to a shallow depth and then a side entry sub (SES) is installed in the fishing string. Running in of the fishing string continues with the wireline now passing through the SES and up the outside of the drill pipe.
Once they free the wireline and latch onto the tool the tool is powered up and logging continues with the wireline tool latched into the fishing string. Youre basically now doing a TLC logging job.
Ive only done a couple of LWF job's...all of them in Bass Strait. Fiddly and time consuming and you need a drill floor and wireline crew who know how to communicate with each other but chance of success is high.
Time needed for this operation - 24 - 48 hours. Total time alot less than for a strip over fishing job and clean out trip.
