Says it all really. Not necessarily gutless,TOU... very stupid, appallingly ignorant, poorly briefed, poorly coordinated, and unable to appreciate the big picture - absolutely... they are the better adjectives.
Any servicemen who have operated with the American forces in a major operation know the Yanks are often as bigger enemy as the one you are supposed to be engaging. It's an unfortunate by-product of being on the side of an ignorant, arrogant immature world power.
If you are a British serviceman in Iraq, you would be getting really jack of this by now, I suspect.
