one example is the Marcellus gas formation. described as one of the least explored basins in the world (sound familiar?) it is anticipated to hold nearly 1,300TCF of shale gas.
billion of dollars are now being sunk into Marcellus by American and Canadian companies alike, and it is now one of the hottest shale plays in the US.
if we look to the US, we should get a reasonable idea of what we can expect over here.
