I skip most of the personal jibey stuff and only go back to get a better understanding if I decide to add to the conversation.

Perhaps it’s a bit of a hangover from back in the day, when I had to evaluate if a compliant from a poster against another poster’s comment was valid or not.

I suspect that a proper peer review process needs an impartial approach to be taken, when assessing novel scientific research or research that contradicts the general consensus.

Personal bias is a killer of the impartial thought process.
