You might think that £737m is small potatoes for the Polish government. However it has caused a bit of a stir in the Polish press and the Italian government chose to seek annulment for an award of only Euro 190m.
There is concern that successful cases brought under these treaties will result in more applications by companies against governments.
I don’t see how a claim under a trade treaty could set a precedent for claims relating to WW2 reparations.
