One such reason could be that we were at the time quite desperate and this company/guy was given a shot to lobby Czech Republic government or CEZ to unlock the Cinovec potential at the time when politicians were claiming that the Czech lithium was "stolen". Whether they ended up helping with the CEZ deal we don't know.
