We have been in the Bellarine Peninsula since Boxing Day and it has been swamped with people. It seems that recent new residents have been visited by relatives looking for a local beachside holiday rather than risk a holiday based on air travel and associated risks of delays and missing baggage. I have never seen so many cars parked in residential streets overnight. It seems to have eased a bit this week with many people starting work yesterday back in Melbourne.
Restaurants, bars and cafe’s have been full all day every day. In fact we could not get into some with queues forming at places we would normally walk straight in.
Feedback from Mrs. D and Miss D is that the retail shops were all full with lots of customers buying.
