50% of gold in RSA is mined from the vein less than 30cm, 40% mined from 30 -1m and less than 10% more than one. Both wits and pilgrim rest deposit are sedimentary stratigraphically controlled -> thin but stable. There is no way to compare such stratigraphically controlled gold deposit to structure controlled deposit such as Archean gold deposit in Australia.
