For the amount of money that they have already spent on this project, they could have provided the NT remote communites and all of Katherine with a complete solar powered solution. In fact, theree is still the opportunity to do that with EXISTING panel technology and existing battery technology.

Sun Cable is not a government funded enterprise. So, it's not going to supply outback communities , is it ? That said, I just had a look at the NT renewable energy plan. Surprisingly, it only has a 50% renewables target by 2030. That is quite a way behind most states and the feds. I wonder why that is ?https://territoryrenewableenergy.nt.gov.au/strategies-and-plans/electricity-system-plans#Darwin-Katherine-electricity-system-plan
