it is always tricky to compare. lynas also did that during the post GFC period.
lynas started its plans for a plant in 2009 and had a plant up and running around 2011. so it still has a bil market cap when a plant was started. it did however already have a mining operation going (first mining campaign was 2008). I would also argue demand for REE is bigger now than at that time so prices were lower back during that time which would have also impacted its value.
