re the strike I used to live in Canberra and different country but some things I saw play out
: One agency, DHS were quicker to negotiate a new enterprise agreement on wages; and everyone's wage was bumped up.a little more than inflation and there was a little back pay from when negotiations started
Another agency I believed it was defence dragged on enterprise.wage negotiations for 3 Years. The employees didn't get the rise they were hoping for got a small increase AND it wasn't backdated the three years it had been in negotiation. 10% sounds like a big jump but sometimes these negotiations at that level drag on for years. Just my two cents on what I saw happen in Canberra some employees won and some working in different agencies lost in the end
No idea if the same happens in the Uk but given our connection and historic link to UK I guess it might ?
