i don't think it's exposed anything at all.. Russia made their move.. they now find themselves camped out on a fair slice of European territory that it didn't formerly.. measuring 'weakness' militarily is a very complex task as the battlefield changes and the actual participants ( not the observers ) make adjustments and tactical changes.. Ukraine handed Russia's ass to it on a platter in the Kiev battle yet overall still finds itself in a massive territorial deficit.. A territory that was always disputed, always had history, always had baggage attached.

we chose to pick a proxy fight with a nuclear armed, blue water navy, essentially failed (political) state.. why ?

did we need to expose Russia's 'weak' military ? no .. but now we have given them a really good reason to go all in.. militarily

you see the West, narrates the saga from the keyboard and the lecturn whilst Russians and Ukrainians are dying by the 10s of thousands on the ground ..

this could have been avoided.. you know it, everyone here knows it.. we should have learned that proxy wars are losing wars.. there are no winners.. there's not even any assets in Ukraine to exploit.. right ?

Russia has done exactly what I predicted it would do.. pivot to the David narrative against the Goliath NATO and go asymmetrical... they don't give a damn about values or ideals they will just point and shoot hasn't anyone figured that out yet ? if you want to go to war, be prepared for the opponent to target your house, your family, your assets, your food, your supplies, your money..

To fight Russia in Eastern Europe, is suicide .. period

Anyways, fact is, now we're in, that northern border needs a no fly zone and if they are going to send tanks I think air support is absolutely critical, so whether we like it or not, we know that if it is not spoken in word, then in deed, NATO is pretty much about to be in direct conflict with the Russian federation via the upgrade to massive offensive capability ( that won't be available for months ).. how do you think the Russian fed will react to that ?

    i think two scenarios..

    1. Russia is seriously in trouble and all their talk of escalation and 'long' wars is bluff and they are actually using it as a screen to project strength when actually they are desperate to get some kind of end to this madness knowing the heavy weaponry on the way could tip the balance on the battlefield

    OR

    2. Russia welcomes the news as a confirmation that NATO itself, is ultimately their opponent in this conflict and immediately begins drawing up suitable targets to attack and disrupt the supply of heavy weaponry from the west

Are you ready to become a target of Russia's 'weak' military ?
