Fair points. I would go a little further with a prognostication: China and Korea will dominate EV manufacturing for the next 10-15 years: bang for buck and pretty good build quality.
All new cars are designed mostly by AI these days, so its the practical manufacturing steps that separate the brands. Only Germany can be relied upon to make EVs with high manufacturing standards that will compete with the bang for buck from China.
Maybe Ford GM, Chrysler etc can increase their production to compete with local Tesla but given 'free choice' in 4 or 5 years you'd still be attracted to buying a Tesla over a Ford or GM car. The IR CC Act will help the US economy, but China and Korea have a big head start. The USA is 13 metres back in the Stallwell Gift.
