4Mbps is not even close to HD.
One HD stream would be in excess of 28Mbps, so if you needed more than one stream you would require a lot more.
As for believing TV is dying and DVD's can be replaced by the Cinema. That still does not mean that there will not be a market for those products and variations of those products.
Those product may or may not be of any value to you, but they will make money for those that want to sell those products.
