Well, in that regard, BCI are at the mercy of WAMSI and the WA EPA. If it was solely up to the company they would have filled P1 already, but sadly, they must wait.

Remember the process of Sea Water to brine from P1 to P9 takes approx 18 mths, however flowchart volumes were also originally based on the larger size Ponds 1 and 2 (southern portions, ie more water) which are also currently subject to RRDMMA conditions under MS1175, so this will more than likely also impact the end volume/quantity of salt.

So even if conditional approval is given in the next couple of months, a target of first salt on ship could still be on track for 1st half 2025, although at lower end volume/quantity until the expanded southern P1 & 2 are completed.

Dealing with Environmental regulation is just wonderful isn't it....???
