A BOYS top lip was ripped off when his familys dog tried to snatch a biscuit from his mouth. Nine-year-old John Henderson needed two hours of surgery after the attack by a Staffordshire bull terrier cross.
He had a skin graft and must wait six weeks to learn if he will be scarred for life.
The dog, called Simba, leapt at John as he bit into a cookie at home in North Shields, North Tyneside.
Mum Muriel said: The dog bit his lip and was just hanging on ? and pulled the skin away. John was screaming.
It was horrible ? our worst nightmare.
Simba was put down by police and the family have given away another Staffordshire bull terrier to a friend.
Muriel added: John will have to have another two operations at least. I would never have another dog in the house now.
Last week The Sun told how model Elisha Gwynne, 17, of Highgate, Birmingham, was scarred for life after being attacked by a Staffordshire bull terrier.
