If the Saner family no longer had the capability to develop the project then they are not going to generate anymore value from it. A buyer is not going to pay for the future 'potential' when it is them that has to do all the hard yards to develop and bear the risks that go along with developing such a project. Perhaps if it was more of a competitive auction they would have had more bargaining power to negotiate a better outcome but doesn't sound like this was the case. Not sure if lynas was actively bidding against this otherwise I am sure they would have had the financial power to win it over LIN
