Jase - next time you speak with an engineer ask about the SONRIS reported pressure data (from last month):
    03/19/2010 10 8475 COMPLETED 2/18/10 AS A GAS WELL IN THE SIPH DAVISI; PM F; 400 MCFD; 0 BCPD; 2027 FTP; 3202 SITP; 6/64" CK; 0 BWPD; PERFS: 8372-8384'; (ST:10)
The 1200psi "drawdown" (SITP less FTP) for 400 mcfd on a very small choke with no (reported) fluids, indicates the zone is very restricted, with limited volume. The shut-in pressure is consistent with a normal pressure gradient. The analysis is really quite basic. Turn on your garden hose just a crack, hold your thumb on the end for a while. When you give it a small opening water comes out but the rate declines rapidly. You get the picture. By the way the Louisiana DNR limit on gas flaring is 72 hrs not 48; 3 days of flow from a given zone is normally sufficient to achieve a stable rate in a commercial reservoir. Also remember the initial rate reported for this interval was 1500 mcfd, so a substantial rate decline has already been observed. The 12' of perforations is plenty to provide adequate opening for flow.
There may be other intervals capable of production or worth testing in this well or subsequent drilling. One would not expect a second well to be drilled until truly commercial rates are demonstrated. "Shows" of gas or oil occur for many reasons and though encouraging do not always indicate commercial accumulations. There have been hundreds of wells drilled around Fausse Pt. salt dome and the prospect/target here has been a limited, partially tested fault block. Now that the participants presumably control the prospective leases a release containing tangible data (logs, maps, etc.) would demonstrate the "massive" nature of the "discovery", supporting the contention being made.
