Similar but different flavour. What Mr Big Shot did is similar to what the Hunt Brothers did in march 1980.
In this case he did corner the market already - He controls Tsingshan Holdings and is the largest Nickel Producer. His short is logical when you realise that producing nickel puts a negative impact on the nickel price...Hence he can collect on his shorts at the same time his company dumps Nickel into the market (double dipping).
