    Lafayette gets environmental nod
    The Philippines Department of Environment and Natural Resources has issued an Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC) for the Rapu Rapu gold project being developed in that country by Lafayette Mining Ltd.

    This follows an investigation of the environmental and social impacts of the Rapu Rapu project which started in October last year.

    When developed, the project will be one of the largest mines in the country and generate more than $600m of export earnings.
