Putting this put there as my explanation of this buying.
Third largest holder in WBT and partner in Automic, Ron Belcher, puts on the best 2 days of tech information in a wonderful format and has done so for a few years. Weebit Nano CEO was the last speaker with 1hr to all others 30 mins in the first one. Automic and Weebit are now closely intertwined.
Tech Opps last year yr was on 3rd of November.
The key note speaker was none other than Alex Waislitz of Thorney Investments.
He is one of Australia's most successful investors.
Thorney Technology Funds has Updater as its top holding. Second is another disruptive tech company Calix. Alex main criteria to invest is management first.
As keynote Ron would have been in contact with Alex long before 3 November.
WBT began this unstoppable run early October. Could it be as 3rd largest holder Ron may have got Alex to run the ruler over WBT. It certainly ticks all the boxes for the Thorney Technology Fund.
If confirmed at a later date Ron will be gaining huge kudos as a savy investor with the big end of town. And so he should. Innovation like Tech Opps deserves respect.
