What would I have done? I would have acquired pressures and samples using an LWD tool. That said IVZ weren't really in a position to quickly mobilize an FEWD tool considering the time frame they were working with and I'm not sure if Baker have a tool that matches the specs and capabilities of Schlumberger's Spectrasphere tool. These tools are also in short supply and very expensive to run.

Note that the above is an analysis done in hind sight....pre spud of Mukuyu nobody had any idea of the scenarios that would pan out with this well.

Why will the next well be different?

1) A huge amount of data and lessons learned from Mukuyu-1/ST1
2) Straight well trajectory
3) SBM mud system
4) Different service provider(s).
5) Potentially 3D seismic to aid in optimum well location.
