One thing that does not seem to be mentioned much regarding the whole buyout scenario is the favourable AUD exchange at the moment for the likes of the Brookfield consortium. A $9 buyout price is not $9 in the funds available to them for the purchase (in their money). Also Origin's share of APLNG capital assets export earnings are in USD converted back into AUD for the sake of this exercise.
This is my basic and crude take on one other advantage the consortium would have factored into the price IMO.
