To have the opportunity to build all systems from scratch, much like what Fortescue Future Industries embarked on, with a view on digital delivery from the onset & having that as the basis for everything the company does, is going to give the company an advantage.
I ought to know, I've seen the design/construction delivery go from 2D paper everything to digital tablets linked in with design information to complete field verification with 3D digital scanning used in constructed plants.
From using DOS based databases, to Access, to SQL & knowing the tools available now are first rate.
AI is going to blow the socks off the industry if properly integrated into project execution & delivery.

Apologies, but every day I think of a better way of doing things & although I respect that systems are in place to provide stability & continuity, knowing what is available today vs when these systems were selected & integrated, often has me staring out the window wondering what it would be like to use the best available digital tools today.
It was also one of the reasons why SMS had me interested as a partner to TVN as they have embraced digital delivery & in fact built their own campus in Germany to bring everyone up to a level where this would play a part in their everyday working life.
