    Totally agree.
I think he probably had effective control at 20%, especially with the lack of shareholder interest in AGM etc (including me).

I remember Lew had a lot of control over Coles at well under 20%.

For those so worried about the 50%, yes, it can make life harder, but it doesn't have to.

Reading the Australian this morning this jumped out at me.

Mr Stokes is the chairman of Seven West Media, which owns The West Australian newspaper. His family companies also control about 57 per cent of Seven Group Holdings, which owns Caterpillar dealership Westrac.

Does anyone think Seven West suffer becuase Stokes owns 57% ?

Also, Seven Group Holding - SGH has a 72.6 per cent shareholding in Boral, Australia's largest construction materials and building products supplier.SGH has a 30.0 per cent shareholding in Beach Energy and has interests in oil and gas projects in Australia and the United States. In media, SGH has a 38.9 per cent shareholding in Seven West Media,

Just because he gets 50% doesn't mean the NWE doesn't exist.
Nothing changes re tenements, drilling, 3D etc.

It could even be a positive, depending on MIN.

I also think after all the pushback to the takeover, MIN would be very careful what they do in NWE for quite some time.
They now know they have a strong, intelligent group of minority shareholders looking at everything they do.
