Our society has this all or nothing approach which is unsustainable
There is a place for EVs just as there is a place for Bentley's and big 4 x 4s
But to force their world wide introduction is the scheme of crazy people as it is not sustainable
But they need to have massive adoption so as to get governments to pay for all the infrastructure with taxpayer money
The problem is the absolute fact that today's IC cars produce very impressive low emission figures are extremely economical and can be produced very cheaply
Therefore the only way they can get change is for governments to forcibly mandate them and the public has had a gut full of political mandates with Covid
