Dahrouge, the Canadian geological consulting company who have discovered and vended several promising Canadian lithium projects including Corvette, sold the Cyclone project to Megado and have been contracted to perform the first three years of exploration.
Tracking the project via the Dahrouge website, where it is still being advertised, reveals some interesting information. The Cyclone project area is a very large one, and, most promisingly, almost perfectly fits over the Aquilon greenstone belt, which you can see in the images below:
So the Cyclone project has been pegged out to fit over the Aquilon greenstone belt. Like a glove. Perfect.
The area at the western end of the greenstone belt is a separate project which is known as the Siros Aquilon property. On the Siros property they have found some high grade vein-type gold mineralization. The Cyclone project has had little exploration, save for very limited geochemical sampling. a brief prospecting program and airborne geophysical surveys in 2020 and 2022.
"Historical rock sample data from the Aquilon Greenstone Belt shows anomalous nickel values for the Cyclone Property. Large volumes of ultramafic rock at the Cyclone Property suggest there is good potential for magmatic sulphide mineralization (Ni +/- PGE’s). Historical rock samples show up to 2155 ppm Nickel."
"An airborne EM survey conducted in 2000 covered a smallportion of the Aquilon Belt. It identified several conductorswhich were interpreted as massive sulphides. In 2022, DG Resource Management conducted a high resolution airborne TDEM and magnetic survey over the cycloneproperty.This survey highlighted broad zones of high magnetismassociated with high conductivity which coincide withhistorical rock samples with assay values >1000 ppm Nickel."
"Historical drilling, trenching, and rock sample data from the AquilonGreenstone Belt reveals significant gold values. In 2002 shallow drilling of I.P. anomalies within the western part ofthe Aquilon Belt returned up to 77.81 g/t Au over 1m and during 2004 a grab sample returned 838 g/t Au."
"Historical data did not include analyses for lithium or typical LCT Pegmatite pathfinder elements.Government and industry mapping has identified a number of pegmatites throughout the belt, including a large (> 1kmlong) pegmatite within the adjacent Aquilon Project of SiriosResources. The unsampled and poorly documented pegmatites hostsignificant potential for Lithium-Cesium-Tantalum (LCT) chemistry."
I have posted a link to the Cyclone project page on Dahrouge web site at the bottom of this post. That page has a pdf presentation on the Cyclone project which can be downloaded. The potential could be huge and you would hope that there is a decent nickel/gold resource there at the very least.
THIS PHOTO of the project (?) from the project pdf is interesting but PLEASE VIEW IT WITH CAUTION. The geological structure at the rear of the photo looks very much like a whaleback pegmatite outcrop but there is no guarantee that this photo is actually from the Cyclone project. It may simply be there to make the project look interesting as this is one of only two photos available on the presentation. The other photo is a close-up of a rock displaying some unnamed mineralisation. If this was a whaleback outcrop then surely it would be mentioned in the project details. A 1km long pegmatite is described as existing on the neighbouring Sirios Resources property at the western end of the greenstone. Perhaps this photo is of that Sirios pegmatite.
The project area does not carry any restrictions concerning mining or exploration according to the James Bay Agreement.
On the Dahrouge presentation the following is stated about future plans;
"During spring of 2023 field crews willprospect the Cyclone Property to examine known EM-conductors,historical nickel showings, structura lbreaks and documented pegmatites. Given the paucity of historical exploration data, a regional geochemical database will be developed from rock, soil and tillsamples."
Given that Dahrouge has been contracted to do the exploration for Megado over the next three years, these plans are probably still quite accurate.
