Just because MDMA has become schedule 8 does not mean mdma-like compounds will have an accelerated pathway to clinical use. Seemingly small changes on a molecule can change the effect drastically. For example if you remove the methylenedioxy group from MDMA you end up with methamphetamine, I think most would agree this won't be great for PTSD.

It can be 10-15 years between the invention of a drug and regulatory approval. With psychoactive substances I expect it may be even longer.
I think getting into MDMA production would be a good way to generate funds in the meantime even if the market is very small.
