Firstly in GW's opinion Mount Peake is not viable. "Having looked at it from the inside my firm view is that it is not feasible. The project is just too complicated. It's too large. It requires a lot of water. It requires a lot of people. . . . There are just not enough resources down around Tee Tree for something of this magnitude."
Secondly GW had the TNG (as it was then) team scope out alternate Vanadium resources across the world. He was not looking for new resources. He was looking for financial threats. To his surprise (maybe not to some members of the team) there was a massive deposit near Wyndham in the east Kimberly.
Imagine if this resource was developed by KRR or sold on to another operator who developed it independently. Tivan would be wiped out.
By buying the resource Tivan has secured its place as the largest supplier of Vanadium worldwide.
